Retail Packaging for iyo
A look into my final deliverable as a product design intern at iyo
iyo (pronounced "eye-oh") is a stealth “audio computer” startup that recently spun out of Google X. iyo is currently re-imagining the future of audio through the development of custom in-ear reference monitors that empowers you to create accurate, immersive audio in virtual auditory space.
My prototype is intended to house iyo's first ever product launch: The VAD Pro
The Challenge:
Design a range of delightful retail packaging concepts that are tailored to iyo’s intended users—musicians, sound artists, audiophiles, and creators—while taking into account volumetric, logistical, environmental, and cost constraints.
Skills Used:
Needfinding, sketching, rapid prototyping, 3D modeling (Fusion 360), vector graphics (Adobe Illustrator), 3D printing
Result:
A high-fidelity retail packaging prototype created with 3D printed & handmade parts. Upon presentation to the CEO of iyo, my prototype was selected to enter manufacturing in the fall of 2023. Click here to view final internship presentation.
